50th Post Giveaway!!!

Standard

This is my 50th blog post.  Wow!!!  To tell the truth I didn’t know I could talk (write) that much.  Before we get to the prize though I wanted to share some of the fun Christmas presents I got.

To start with on the before Christmas I got a package in the mail.  It was a giveaway prize I had won from Carol at Fun Threads.  I was so excited to open the box and see this adorable zipper pouch.  I take handwork around everywhere so I can always use something to hold thread, scissors, etc.

That wasn’t all though.  The pouch was full of sewing goodies.  I love the purple batiks and thread.  I can’t wait to use them.  I just need a great project.  If you have any fun ideas let me know.

On Christmas morning I was pretty surprised to open this present from my mom.  I’ve been eying this Kona Solids Roll-Up for months but just couldn’t justify buying it.  I’m seeing 2″ squares in a gray background.

This present wasn’t a surprise but I was still excited to get it.  I got the book A Touch Of Whimsey… by Abbey Lane Quilts.  It’s full of all kinds of fun pillows.  Anyone who knows me knows that I love to make pillows.  My hubby had bought me the pillow kit on the right a while ago and now I can make it.

So I’m looking forward to starting lots of new sewing projects.  I might even finish some.

Now on to the exciting part.  Everyone who’s been with me for a while knows that one of my favorite quilt stores is My Girlfriends Quilt Shoppe.  It’s full of so many cute and inspirational things.  The owners Kris and Kim are identical twins who also have a TV series called DIY Dish.  They are ridiculously creative and tons of fun.   Anyway, Kim designs great patterns so to finally get to the giveaway…

I’m giving away this pattern for the “Let It Snow” wall hanging by Kim Christopherson of Kimberbell Designs.  I have to admit I’m a little jealous and might have to go back to get me one.  I really love Kim’s quilts. To see more from Kris and Kim go to http://www.thediydish.com or http://www.mygirlfriendsquiltshoppe.com.

To enter to win leave me a comment about one of the projects you want to start soon.  For an extra entry you can follow my blog and leave me another comment to let me know.  I will draw a winner a week from today on Jan. 2nd.  Thanks for stopping by my blog and good luck in the giveaway.

  1. Love all the sewing goodies that you got for Christmas! I also received some wonderful sewing items from my family— one in particular, that I’ve been wanting is the “Third Weekend in October” quilt pattern— and that is one of the first projects that I’m really anxious to get started on!!
Thank you for giving us a chance to win the “Let It Snow” pattern– it is adorable!! I LOVE snowmen!! 🙂

  2. I want to finally learn how to make fabric postcards — and start sending them to my two daughters so that they can keep up with what is going on in my workroom!

    • I’ve never been good with log cabins. I love the look of them but I can’t get myself to ever make enough blocks for a whole quilt. I think that is an awesome goal though. I’ve wanted to learn needle turn applique for a long time too.

  3. What a cute give away! We definately need to go shopping together!

I’m taking inspiration from the zipper pouch that you won from Carol at Fun Threads. I can see it all made up in colorful wools! Or…. maybe even felted wool with a needle punch design! I can’t wait to give it a try.

    • I keep telling you we need a shopping trip. I can’t wait to see what you make though. I’ll try to remember to bring my zipper pouch to guild so you can see it. Thanks for following. I love to share my obsession!

  4. What a cute pattern! I am familiar with Kim and Kris but didn’t know Kim was designing patterns. This one is for me, my favorite thing is snowflakes and LOTS of snow! Happy New Year!

    • They have actually been using Kim’s patterns in their store as mystery quilts. They give you a pattern for a new block each week. I’ve wanted to do one because they all turn out so cute. Right now they are signing up for a Valentine’s day quilt. Have you had a chance to work on the Irish Wildflower quilt?

  5. I am a follower! 🙂 It’s my resolution to concentrate on my UFO’s, so that’s what I’m going to do. I have them listed (there are 25). I think I’ll just draw a random number and get to it!
