Baby Diamonds crochet pattern

I finally got the pattern written out for the Baby Diamonds afghan.

Materials

Worsted weight baby yarn;

  • Main afghan 22 oz
  • Edging 4 oz

Size H crochet hook

Afghan Body

Row 1; Ch. 151, dbl. in 4th ch. from hook and in each chain across.

Rows 2-3; Ch. 3, turn, dbl. in next stitch and in each stitch across.

Row 4; Ch. 3, turn, dbl. in next 16 stitches  *ch. 3, skip next three stitches, dbl. in next 25 stitches, repeat from * 3 times, ch. 3 skip next 3 stitches, dbl. in last 17  stitches.

Row 5; Ch. 3, turn, dbl. in next 12 stitches, *(ch. 3 skip next 3 stitches dbl. in next stitch) 3 times, dbl. in next 16 stitches, repeat from * 3 times, (ch. 3 skip next 3 stitches dbl. in next stitch) 3 times, dbl. in last 12 stitches.

Row 6; Ch. 3, turn, dbl. in next 8 stitches, *(ch. 3, skip next 3 stitches, dbl. in next stitch) 5 times, dbl. in next 8 stitches, repeat from* 3 times, (ch. 3, skip next 3 stitches, dbl. in next stitch) 5 times.

Row 7; Work the same as row 5.

Row 8; Work the same as row 4.

Rows 9-11; Ch. 3 turn dbl. in next stitch and in each stitch across.

Repeat rows 4-11 9 times, fasten off.

Afghan Edging
Rnd. 1; Attach edging with slip stitch in afghan corner, ch. 1 sc. 3 times in the corner, sc. around afghan body working 161 sc on the sides, 3 sc. in the corners, and 1 sc. per stitch along the top and bottom, slip stitch in the first sc.

Rnd. 2; Ch. 3, dbl. in same stitch, dbl. in next stitch, dbl. twice in next stitch.  dbl. in next stitch, (ch.1, skip next stitch, dbl. in next stitch) 80 times, dbl. twice in next stitch, dbl. in next stitch, dbl. twice in next stitch, dbl. in next stitch, (ch.1, skip next stitch, dbl. in next stitch) 72 times, dbl. twice in next stitch, dbl. in next stitch, dbl. twice in next stitch, dbl. in next stitch, (ch.1, skip next stitch, dbl. in next stitch) 80 times, dbl. twice in next stitch, dbl. in next stitch, dbl. twice in next stitch, dbl. in next stitch, (ch.1, skip next stitch, dbl. in next stitch) 72 times, join with slip stitch to top of ch. 3.

Rnd. 3; Ch. 1, sc. in same stitch, and next 3 stitches, ch. 3, slip stitch in same sc., sc. in next 4 stitches ch. 3, slip stitch in same sc. around slip stitch in first sc. fasten off.

  1. I have been searching for months for a pattern to make for my new grandbaby I have found a few I started and didnt really like cuz they just didnt seem to be the one I was looking for, I think I just found what I have been searching for.
